Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ)
What is Life Christian Bible
Institute?
Life Christian Bible Institute is a Full Gospel, Word of Faith,
Interdenominational Bible Institute. Our goal is to raise up graduates who
can hear the voice of God and walk by faith. The San Angelo Campus is a
qualified extension of the Main Campus in Tampa, Florida and offers the same
courses and degree plans as the Main Campus. Life Christian Bible Institute is a member
of the Accrediting Commission International, the world’s largest
non-governmental accrediting association. ACI is the accreditation authority
for over 21,000 students in 168 schools in nine countries on five continents
and operates in thirty-five states within the United States. LCBI's Main
Campus is affiliated with Life of Faith Ministries, Inc., a non-profit,
tax-exempt church organization chartered in the state of Florida.
When & Where are classes held?
The San Angelo LCBI Campus is located at TLC Academy, 5687
Melrose, San Angelo, Texas. Classes are held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 -
10:00 PM. Each class's duration is four weeks, totaling 12 actual contact
hours for which the student earns 3 college credit hours. Nine courses are
offered per year, along with a 3 hour ministry practicum (72 hours of
volunteer ministry), giving the student the ability to earn 30 college hours
per year.
Can anyone be a student?
You must have your high school diploma, or have earned your high school
equivalency (GED), to become an undergraduate student. There are no academic
requirements for LCBI students. Please accept our invitation to observe any
Tuesday evening before making the decision to join LCBI.
What is required in each course?
For each course, you are responsible for the information taught, for
reading one to two books and the completion of a test on the last class of
the course. There may be occasional homework during the first year, which
progressively increases as the student progresses from year to year. You are
required to attend all classes, unless excused through the Dean of Students
Office. For any absence, you are required to visit our website (www.tlcfamily.com/lcbi/audio.htm)
which will have the downloadable recording available to you the next
business day. New students may
be accepted at the beginning of any course, but may not enter a course after
its second class.
What are the Costs?
Full time undergraduate students complete nine courses per year, costing
$160 per course, totaling $1440.00 per academic year. A 10% discount is given to Senior Pastors. Each student must
also submit an application with a one-time fee of $35. Additional fees may
be incurred for long distance correspondence, class tapes, etc. The San
Angelo Campus accepts payments throughout the academic year.
How does the Application
Process work?
You may obtain the appropriate application through the Dean of
Student’s Office (see contact information), or download the application
from the main campus web site www.lcbi.org/pdf/appform.pdf. Return your application, $35 application fee, and copy of
high school diploma to the Dean’s office upon completion, and by your second
class of attendance. If you have higher education hours or degrees, you do
not need to provide a high school diploma, but you must have an unopened,
official transcript from each college or Bible School attended sent to the
Dean’s office. The acceptance-assessment process usually takes 6-12 weeks to
complete. Ministers may also elect to complete a Ministry Life Experience
Application, also requiring a $35 application fee, in order to gain up to 30
hours for experience as a pastor, in preaching and/or teaching.
Can I study at home?
Yes, you may enroll in our Long Distance Learning Program, which allows
students to work at home through the use of course online audio
presentations of each class. You may sign up and receive materials by
visiting the Dean of Students’ office, or by mail. Additional postage and
handling may be incurred. Please contact the office for more information.
